Twice a year, our culinary team works hard to plan our seasonal menu updates, once in the fall and once in the spring. Though this year has been anything but typical, we’re pleased to keep up the tradition with our recently launched Fall 2020 menu. Deciding which dishes will stay, which will be fine-tuned, and which will disappear for now is a difficult choice. We know each of our longtime guests has a favorite dish that they would love to see return (or hate to say goodbye to). Since EVERY Burtons Grill & Bar dish is one of our favorites, we feel the same way! This year, we thought you might enjoy getting a peek into our decision-making process, as well as a preview of what you can expect when you next dine with us.
{BALANCED OFFERINGS}
During our menu update season, a lot of work goes into finding the right balance of dishes to feature on our menu. We strive to balance the desires of our guests with the strengths of each of our chef-led scratch kitchens. At several locations, our delicious Braised Short Ribs are returning, available as a hearty entrée or delicious Street Tacos filling. At other locations, we’re excited to expand our seafood offerings to provide a customizable Market Catch: choose your favorite protein and method of preparation to make a dish that’s just right for you.
{SEASONAL FLAVORS}
As temperatures chill, we start craving heartier ingredients that will fuel our bodies through the winter season. Our kitchens are now busy prepping sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, and twice-baked potatoes for menu items like the new Harvest Bowl and an updated take on our classic Salmon Romesco. In addition, our scratch-made Black Bean Patties have returned; try them in our returning favorite Street Tacos or as a vegetarian option in one of our fabulous burgers.
{QUALITY CONTROL}
It’s our goal to serve only the best quality meals we can, without compromise. Though we know our Point Judith Calamari is a guest favorite, we have begun to see quality issues with the supply of squid currently available to us. As a result, we have chosen to take Calamari off the menu for now. Don’t despair – it won’t be gone forever. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!
{GUEST FEEDBACK}
Your feedback is always a major factor when it comes to menu updates. This year, we sent out a Guest Feedback Survey to all of our loyalty members asking what dishes they would like to see return to our menu. Overwhelmingly, we heard that our fish tacos should reappear – and so they did! We’re happy to invite you to enjoy flaky bronzed or fried haddock in our Street Tacos for the rest of the season (available gluten-free, of course). In addition we’ve brought back two all-time guest favorites to participating locations: an updated Roasted Beet Salad, as well as our famous corned beef Reuben.
We’re so excited about what our Fall 2020 has to offer, and we hope this look at how we put it together has you excited to try something new.
