When serving food during a Boil Water Advisory, your safety is our greatest concern. Please review our safety protocols below for more information.
During a Boil Water Advisory (BWA), Burtons Grill & Bar closely follows all safety guidelines from the local Department of Health (DOH). While a BWA is active, we use bottled water for food preparation and drinking. Employees must wash their hands with soap and water followed by applying an alcohol-based sanitizer.
Our beverage machines, including Soda and Fountain Drinks, Lemonade, Tea, and Espresso are turned off and not used until the BWA has been lifted. After the BWA has been lifted, filters are replaced before the machines are used again.
Clean, safe ice is sourced from our restaurant distributors from outside of the BWA area. Our ice machines are turned off, and will not be used until the BWA has been lifted and the machines have been thoroughly cleaned. We also discard all food and beverage that could possibly have been contaminated prior to receipt of a BWA notice.
We have two kinds of dishwashers in our restaurants that are safe to operate during the BWA based on standards set by the Department of Health. Our kitchen dishwashers are verified to reach a minimum of 180 degrees Fahrenheit; Bar dishwashers are verified to wash with 100ppm chlorine and 1 minute of contact time.
We look forward to serving you safely during the BWA. Please contact the affected restaurant directly for any additional questions.
